The nutritional needs of a plant are far more complex than the old concepts of macro nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium). Improved cultivars with high yields are requiring a more complete nutrition program to be followed in order to realize high returns. More and more micro-element deficiencies are being noted that suggest that producers should start paying more attention to it.
The importance of a balanced fertilizer program that includes adequate macro and micro elements are clearly illustrated in Justus von Liebig’s Law of the Minimum.
Agrilux already offers a wide range of specialty products that address these problems and help farmers to obtain an optimum yield.
Herewith a good example of a micro-element deficiency that was treated and corrected using some of of the products from Agrilibrium we have available.
For further information on which problems can be addressed through the implementation of Agrilibrium products, please download the following presentation: Agrilibrium Micro Cations Presentation (PDF)
With the use of glyphosate, additional micro elements should be applied to compensate for capturing of especially micro elements and the suppressing effect on microbes and nitrogen fixation. Much of what we see as a magnesium deficiency is actually a manganese deficiency.
